Support and Donate
What will your donation support?
Start-up funding is needed to restore the East Lyme High School Planetarium facility. The cost of a state-of-the-art planetarium projector, the most essential equipment in the restoration, is $35,000 (projector, shipping, insurance, and training). This mid-range system will replace the obsolete unit that was removed in 2013. The portable-projection technology includes the most essential hardware and software to produce compelling full dome presentations. This new system is designed for usability and maximum portability at 1/6th of the price of stationary units produced only 4 years ago.
STARS to STEM, Inc. has developed a comprehensive business plan that outlines five years of budgetary needs. Start-up costs include the following:
projection system and training ✓
programs and licenses ✓
full surround sound audio system
essential electrical and facility upgrades
administrative essentials. ✓
Our goal is to raise sufficient funds for start-up by fall of 2021. Ongoing fundraising is needed to sustain the administrative costs, other essentials for upgrading the room, and to support planned programs and events.
