What will your donation support?

Start-up initial investment is the funding essential to restore the East Lyme High School Planetarium facility to functional operations with newest technology incorporated, currently projected for completion by September 30, 2019, the end of our current fiscal year. Now that our 501(c)(3) application has been approved, we are forging ahead full throttle with our fundraising efforts.

STARS To STEM, Inc. has developed a comprehensive business plan that outlines five years of budgetary needs. Start-up costs include the following:

  • state-of-the-art projection system and necessary hardware,
  • software that includes programs and licenses,
  • full surround sound audio system,
  • essential electrical and facility upgrades,
  • furniture, and
  • administrative essentials.

Our goal is to raise sufficient funds for start-up by June 1, 2019. This is to ensure that the facility is up and running for October 1, 2019. Ongoing fundraising is needed to sustain this project. In our first year of operating the planetarium, funding will also support staff and other necessary expenses.
